Martin Schick (er/ihm oder keine) ist irgendwo zwischen Aktivismus und Kulturmanagement zu verorten. Eingebettet in ein Netzwerk aus guten Menschen, Institutionen, Organisationen, Communities und Gruppen arbeitet er mit kritischem Geist Serious Fun an transformativen Projekten jenseits einer selbstverliebten Kunstbubble.

2018-23 war er Kulturmanager für das Innovationsquartier bluefactory in Fribourg, dann Initiant einer Plattform für Partizipation in der Genossenschaft Kalkbreite Zürich und angestellt an der ZHdK für eine Forschung zu Stadtbrachen. Seit 2025 ist er wieder freischaffend im Kulturbereich unterwegs, u.a. co-kuratiert er das BONE Performance Festival und organisiert verschiedene Communities, wie etwa die Wild Card Community oder die Alpine Faeries. Und er ist in unzähligen Gruppen, Vereinen, Komitees und Projekten aktiv – einfach dann, wenn es Sinn macht.

As an experienced performing artist, transformer, host, critical voice and activist, Martin Schick (he/him or none) is engaged in the creation of unconventional spaces, collective experiences and actions for societal shifts. By employing methods like organizational transformation and urban or rural redesign, cultural strategies and/or life hacking, he embodies an artistic attitude in life beyond conventional art production.

In practical terms, after many years of touring with his own creations in the performing arts world, he was the cultural manager of the innovation disctrict bluefactory in Fribourg (2018 - 2023). Then he initiated and managed a platform for cooperative culture at the Genossenschaft Kalkbreite Zurich. Since 2015, he is a freelance cultural worker again, which allows him to co-direct the international BONE performance festival in Bern, to organize the Wild Card community of (dance) practice, to be a member of the jury board of Pro Helvetia (innovation & society), to be in the board of Dampfzentrale Bern and the Klimagenossenschaft Schweiz and to do things he likes, sometimes even art.

En tant qu'artiste expérimenté, transformateur, hôte, voix critique et activiste, Martin Schick est engagé dans la co-création d'espaces non conventionnels, ainsi que dans la création d'expériences et d'actions collectives pour des changements sociétaux. Il emploie des méthodes autour de la transformation organisationnelle, des stratégies culturelles et/ou le piratage du quotidien avec une attitude artistique dans la vie au-delà de la production artistique conventionnelle.

Concrètement, après de nombreuses années de tournées avec ses propres créations dans les arts de la scène, il a été le manager culturel du quartier de l'innovation bluefactory à Fribourg (2018-23). Suite à cette expérience à l’interstice de l’architecture et la culture, il a commencé à travailler pour coopérative Kalkbreite à Zurich où il a initié une plateforme pour la participation&collaboration. Depuis 2025 il est à nouveau indépendant. A part de différents mandats pour de nombreuses organisations et processus, la gestion d’une communauté de pratique appelé „Wild Card“, l’engagement dans divers comités et ses activités activistes, il est aussi co-directeur artistique du festival international de performance BONE à Berne.
